History
Chemostrat Ltd has been trading for 30 years and is the only dedicated chemostratigraphy company in the world. The company was founded on the chemostratigraphy research undertaken by Dr Tim Pearce in the early 1990’s. This research focused on the Triassic sequences from the North Sea and Tertiary Atlantic margin turbidites. Since then, the company has expanded to more than 60 staff and has offices in Wales, Houston, Calgary and Perth.
Chemostrat have completed over 1000 chemostratigraphy studies and published numerous papers and abstracts on all aspects of chemostratigraphy. The company has extensive experience on the correlation of barren / virtually barren continental sequences (i.e., Devonian, Permian, Triassic in the North Sea, North Africa (TAG-I), South America and the Middle East) and of humid / tropical continental/marginal marine sequences (Carboniferous and Jurassic sequences in the North Sea and Tertiary sequences in Thailand, Indonesia and West Africa).
Chemostrat is a specialist chemostratigraphy company that integrates their data with other stratigraphic and sedimentological data to provide clients with a geological interpretation. To ensure, that all aspects of a multi-disciplinary project are addressed in a fully professional manner, Chemostrat works with a network of top class geological consultants. This working regime ensures that a pool of experts in each discipline are available to tailor the interpretation to the individual needs of the project.
Chemostrat invented wellsite Chemostratigraphy in 2001 and provide an experienced global delivery being currently active the North Sea, Africa and Australia. This service can be combined with biostratigraphy via our JV (Future Geoscience) with service provider PetroStrat.
