Sedimentology

Chemostratigraphy provides robust correlations between sections. However, as sedimentary processes produce laterally variable stratigraphic architectures, further understanding of Chemostrat correlations can be achieved by considering sedimentary data acquired from core logging, and facies models.

Sedimentological data from logging of cores is provided by our partners Redrock International Limited and can be integrated with Chemostrat data to produce data-rich correlations as well as depositional environment interpretations. These assist with the calibration and interpretation of wireline data, providing the basis for the prediction of facies types in un-cored intervals. Further integration with petrographic and reservoir quality data can be achieved to gain an insight into the potential quality of a stratigraphic interval
