Enhanced Sandstone Petrography
The Sandtrak workflow approach is based on petrographic analysis of a much higher resolution, in which all of the particles are carefully and forensically classified. The enhanced sandstone petrography provided by Sandtrak also focuses on diagenetic features, and provides a more quantitative way to determine effective reservoir quality properties and their prediction.
The diagenetic analysis performed by Sandtrak is focused on (i) the characterisation of the textural relationships of cementing phases to finally determine the chronology of their precipitation and (ii) on the analysis of fluid inclusions to reconstruct the reservoir thermal history. By combining the depositional and diagenetic information it is possible to establish the regional compositional facies and diagenetic trends which are essential information when determining or predicting the source rock and the migration conduit potential (Reservoir Quality Assessment).
