An integrated chemostratigraphic and heavy mineral study undertaken on the Cretaceous and Lower Tertiary successions encountered in 11 wells located in the Vøring Basin (6505/10-1, 6506/3-1, 6605/8-1, 6607/2-1, 6607/5-1, 6607/5-2, 6610/3-1R, 6704/12-1, 6706/6-1, 6706/11-1 and 6707/10-1). The study demonstrates the ability of chemostratigraphy to develop an independent sub-regional correlation framework for the Cretaceous to Lower Tertiary successions of the Vøring Basin, which is based on the geochemistry of the silty claystones.
