The aim of the study is to differentiate provenance areas and to map the basal Permian sandstones in the UK & Dutch sectors. The study database consists of 150 sandstone samples, 80 new heavy mineral samples and will incorporate a review of existing heavy mineral published Carboniferous data (possible Permian sandstone sources).
